It's already Wednesday and I'm still loving this past fourth of July weekend. The three day weekend was filled with lots of CO activities including, hiking, camping, 3 nights of fireworks!, tubing!, lots of good food and a great afternoon spent with friends picnicing in the park outside the capital. Check out some photos below of the adventures:

Denver Rock N Roll Marathon
I have official signed up for the 2011 Denver Rock N Roll Marathon taking place on October 9th! I will be training with Team in Training (TNT) for this marathon as the Team Captain for the Central Denver team. TNT participants raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS), a research organization working to find a cure to blood cancers. Basically it's a great cause. And the team is just amazing.
Find out more information and donate here.
Also, if you're in the Denver area we'll be hosting a fundraising Pub Crawl on East Colfax on July 9th. Some of the details are still being worked out but it's looking like $25 ticket price for 3 beers and pizza, with all of the ticket proceeds going directly to LLS. It'll be a good time and honestly you'll probably go out and spend $25 anyways so why not give it to a good cause?!! More info to come.

My ever expanding unread reading list:
- Strengths Finder 2.0
- The Art of Innovation
- Good to Great
- A Walk in the Woods
- Longitudes and Attitudes
- How We Are Hungry
- Ultramarathon Man
- Children of God
- You Shall Know our Velocity
- What is the What
- The Fountainhead
- The Lincoln Lawyer
- How to win friends and influence people
- How to start a homebased Bakery Business
- Currently Reading: Why We Buy: the Art of Shopping.
Wow it didn't seem like so many books until I wrote it all down. Paperbackswap has been fueling this need to read.
Any books I should be reading that's not on the list? What books are you reading?

The Largest Thing You'll Look at Today
A map of the universe. well at least 95% of it.

'A team at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics has rendered a 3-D image of the cosmos out to a distance of 380 million light-years away. This is the biggest thing you're going to look at a picture of today.'

First Denver Race
Well if you don't know Denver is full of crazy runners, rain, sun or hail they are taking over the streets and parks. Today was my first (of hopefully many!) races in and around Denver. It was a great one to start of because it was for an organization I hope to work with in the future, Girls on the Run. It felt great to see these young girls, third to eight grade, accomplishing probably one of the hardest things, at least physically, they've tried to do. Along with their coaches they train for a couple of months for this race (there's a fall race too) and it was motivating to see them smiling, chasing each other and providing encouragement to the other girls they trained without throughout the year. Here's the course and my results. Please keep in mind that this is the farthest I've run in about a month a half so I was a bit slow. (also dodging girls as they stop in the middle of the road to tie their shoes or pick something off the ground etc. but mostly me just being slow:)
