Milk the Old School Way
Recently I was talking with some friends about how I wanted to start a business that brings back the 'old school' ways of delivering milk to your home door step. I realize it's not very practical for me to do because:
- I don't own a dairy farm and
- I'd be the worst truck driver ever (ok maybe better then this guy)
I cannot wait to get my first order of milk and eggs! And consider supporting these guys if you're in the area!!
I'll keep you posted.
A Simple Request
anyone know how to make delicous homemade Perogies? I'll pay you about $20 and some Guinness to teach me.

deal?
btw perogies don't look very good in photographs hence the illustration :)

Adaptu - Adapt Who?!
Today I found some time to listen to a couple podcasts that I enjoy. It's hard for me to listen to podcasts and do anything else while still being able to follow the podcast. Today on the 'Comsumerism Commentary' podcast they were talking about a site to help individuals manage their finances. The site was: https://www.adaptu.com/index.jspa. The difference between this site and most of the other finacial literacy sites I've come across is that this one really tries to use the community as a source of knowledge. For better or for worse. this idea falls along the lines of wikipedia and I was really eager to check out how sophisticated the conversations got or if was more of the same information that you can find anywhere on the internet.
Little did I know I would never find out. The site took far too long for my lightening speed and impulsive brain to sit and wait for. The site lost my appeal before I could even look at much of it. I suppose I'll give it another go but for now it's rated an overall thumbs down.
I leave you all with the link in hopes that you'll have better luck and find it useful to you. Seems like it really has potential.

Running of the Green (Island)
Today was a GREAT day to race. Not too cold and not too many people. Sorry to my niece and nephew for missing what I heard was a spectacular performance. I hope someone got it on film.

Adventures in California
So I've made my way, reluctantly, out to California to visit the boy. So far we haven't rested!
The first day was a trial of getting from Albany to San Franciso without getting frisked by the TSA or losing luggage. It took me a bit longer then expected to get out here given some delays from the snow storm we received in albany the night before my departure. I'll shorten the airport experience to this, I read 190 pages of Bill Bryson's Lost continent. A book about his travels in small town America. So far it's great and really I didn't want to put the book down.
The first thing Rich and I did after we found eachother in the airport was to head straight to In N Out burger. it was delicous. and now I'm addicted. Yesterday we spent ALL DAY walking around the piers of San Francisco. We saw some seal lions, some magic shows and a whole lot of tourist. THE BEST PART of the whole day wasy semi wandering into a Bourdin Bakery. It was amazing, they had the bakery open up so that you could look over the bakers and machinery hard at work below. It was fascinating. I plan to post pictures once I get back and get them uploaded to this site so you'll just have to use google or wait in eager anticipation. We also went out to see Ben Gibbard, an indie rock legend at age 35. it was beautiful.
today, unfortunatly, I had to work, east coast time. ugh. I was up at 5:30am PST to be logged in by 8:30 EST. it was tough and involved lots of coffee. luckily that is something they do not lack out here.
now we're planning a trip up to napa, CA with a bed and breakfast in mind and perhaps a mud bath/hot springs? we'll see.
well thats all for now. more to come!
